Potato Please Rebel Notes: Recover Blocked Messages

Recover rebel notes from blocked machines in Potato Please, learn how to keep or report a message, and see when those choices affect the story.

01

Approach the Blocked Machine and Hold Interact

For a rebel-note blockage in Potato Please, approach the affected machine and hold interact when the blocked-machine popup appears; players report this recovery method for manual and automatic potato machines. Read the recovered message before choosing whether to keep it or report it to the Ministry.

02

Recover the Note From the Blockage

  1. Read the blocked-machine popup when it appears so you can respond to the interruption before continuing production.
  2. Approach the affected machine to reach the interaction used for the note-related blockage.
  3. Hold interact at the machine to perform the recovery action described in the Steam player's answer.
  4. Inspect the recovered message so you can read its contents before selecting a response.
  5. Choose the available keep or report response deliberately, since the message presents a narrative decision.
  6. Check the machine's output after handling the note to see whether production is moving again.
03

Identify the Kind of Interruption

Use the blocked-machine popup as your cue to investigate the machine directly. The recovery interaction above is a player-reported method, so follow the interaction prompt visible in your own game. Check whether a message is actually recovered before treating the interruption as resolved.

A machine standing idle does not by itself identify a rebel note. The Crank Peel Machine still needs manual input during ordinary operation, with the described control being to hold E at the crank. If there is no blocked-machine popup, check that normal interaction before assuming a story object is responsible.

The developer separately fixed cut potatoes getting trapped in peeling-machine hoppers: those potatoes roll back out unpeeled. That behavior concerns the handling of cut potatoes and does not establish that a rebel message has been collected. Look for the recovered note or its response prompt to verify what happened in your save.

04

Recover a Note While Peeling by Hand

Some potatoes contain Resistance messages that you encounter during manual peeling. When the game indicates that something is deeper inside, community guidance recommends continuing carefully until you can collect the note. Keep your attention on the prompt instead of discarding the potato because it interrupts your usual routine.

  1. Inspect the potato when the game signals something deeper inside so you recognize the special interaction.
  2. Continue cutting carefully to reveal the embedded message.
  3. Collect the revealed note so you can read it and consider the available response.

Story Spoilers: Keeping Notes and Pavel's Fate

Recovered Resistance messages can offer a choice between keeping the information and reporting it to the Ministry. Read the options before responding, especially if you care about the story involving Pavel. These decisions belong to the narrative rather than the equipment upgrade system.

A player-written Steam achievement guide associates repeated reports of Resistance notes with Pavel being taken hostage later. Treat keeping the notes as the cautious choice if you are trying to avoid that reported consequence. This is a community-described outcome, rather than a developer-stated rule guaranteeing what will happen in every save.

Pavel's letters also matter throughout the game, rather than only at the final destination choice. A Steam achievement guide warns that his later fate depends on replies made across the playthrough. If you are pursuing a particular outcome for him, pay attention as those letters arrive instead of leaving every decision until the ending.

Story Spoilers: Check Your Save Before the Ending

For the community route associated with Your Own Executioner, an achievement guide recommends checking the mail log before reaching the train. Its suggested signs are Pavel's final letter describing school near the capital and a final Resistance note that does not say "Your son is with us." Use the messages actually present in your save to assess the story state rather than relying only on your memory of earlier choices.

Reporting a Resistance message does not itself select the Ministry train ending. The main route ending is chosen through the railway destination, while earlier messages can affect other story events. Keep that distinction in mind when deciding how to answer a note during production.
