Potato Please Muscle Memory: Finish the Last Spots

Learn why Muscle Memory can leave potatoes unfinished on Hard in Potato Please, how to find leftover skin, and what the updated skill description promises.

01

Why Muscle Memory Can Leave Skin Behind

Muscle Memory can leave small patches of skin behind on Hard because it does not guarantee a complete peel; the developer's updated description explicitly says the last spots may need hand peeling. Rotate the potato, inspect it from different angles, and manually remove those patches before delivery.

02

What Changed on Hard

Golden Horn Studios changed Hard from No Mercy peeling to Strict peeling in Hotfix 1.0.1. The developer said this should improve Muscle Memory's performance and asked players to report whether the issue persisted. That change was an improvement to the difficulty setting, rather than a promise that the skill would finish every potato.

In Hotfix 1.0.2, the Muscle Memory description was clarified to say that the final spots may require manual peeling. Read the upgrade with that limitation in mind when deciding how much attention to give each potato. An almost-finished result is a reason to inspect the surface before continuing.

03

Find and Remove the Remaining Spots

  1. Rotate the almost-finished potato to bring previously hidden surfaces into view. Inspecting it from additional angles helps you locate the patches Muscle Memory left behind.
  2. Inspect the surface for remaining skin. The peeling guide describes leftover skin as a matte patch, while a flat facet indicates flesh that has already been cut away.
  3. Reposition the potato to bring the remaining patch against the blade. Turning the potato helps you maintain a consistent cutting angle while reaching the area that needs attention.
  4. Peel the remaining skin by hand with a shallow, controlled cut. Keeping the blade almost parallel to the surface helps remove skin without digging deeply into the flesh.
  5. Inspect the potato from additional angles again before delivery. Use this final look to find any remaining patches instead of assuming the surface facing you tells the whole story.
  6. Deliver the cleaned potato through the chute to complete the delivery action. Finishing the peel and sending the potato onward are separate parts of the work.
04

When the Last Patch Is Difficult to See

If the visible side looks clean, turn the potato before cutting again. Work from the patch you can actually identify, using small adjustments to bring it into reach. Avoid repeatedly scraping an already peeled area while searching for the problem.

A player also reported Muscle Memory getting stuck around rot, including on easy difficulty. Treat that as a player observation rather than the explanation for every unfinished potato. If you can see rot, remove the affected spot with short, controlled cuts, then inspect the surface again.

05

What Players Reported About Peeler Upgrades

The original Hard report described potatoes left 97%+ peeled while using Peeler levels 1 and 2. Another player reported that upgrading the Peeler to its maximum still left small spots. These are observations from individual runs, so they should not be read as a fixed failure rate or a universal upgrade requirement.

Before spending more solely to solve a leftover patch, try the manual inspection and cleanup routine. Check whether you can identify and remove the remaining skin with your current tool. That gives you a useful result in your own save without treating another purchase as a guaranteed cure.

06

When to Move Beyond Manual Peeling

If repeated manual cleanup is slowing your overall progress, check your active equipment objective. The Crank Peel Machine introduces machine processing, while the Auto Peel Machine adds motorized peeling capacity. Follow that progression when it becomes available, and keep the surface-inspection routine for potatoes you are still handling manually.

07

Finishing Potatoes After Unlocking Muscle Memory

Why does the game still need me to finish potatoes after unlocking Muscle Memory?
The current description allows for leftover spots that need hand peeling. When that happens, rotate the potato, locate the remaining patches, and finish them manually before delivery. Unlocking Muscle Memory does not remove that final inspection.
