Try hiding the vial among the outdoor potatoes, adding potatoes over it if needed, then check the on-screen detection indicator before the inspection. This is a player-reported method, so judge the placement by the feedback in your own save.
Place the vial before the inspection
- Read the active inspection objective so you know what the game is currently asking you to do with the vial.
- Place the vial among the potatoes outside. This reproduces the general hiding method described by a Steam player who passed the inspection.
- Add potatoes over the vial if it needs more cover. The same player suggested throwing nearby potatoes over the hiding spot.
- Read the on-screen detection indicator after placing it. Use that feedback to assess your hiding spot instead of relying only on how concealed the vial looks.
- Adjust the placement if you want to try lowering the displayed detection reading. Compare the feedback after each adjustment before settling on the spot.

These readings describe the players' placements, not fixed detection values attached to those locations. Try a spot, then check what your own indicator actually shows. The outdoor report is especially useful because the player could still see part of the vial while the displayed detection reading was low.
Spoilers: Remember the letter before the crate choice
Keep a note or screenshot of the Resistance letter's shipment instructions while you can read them. You will want to distinguish the intended shipment when the later crate decision appears. A player reported losing access to the vial instructions in the letter history, so having your own reminder avoids relying on memory.
For the later poisoning choice, player guidance points to cucumbers, and the achievement walkthrough specifically warns against putting the poison on carrots. A Steam player also described using the poison on cucumbers while following the Resistance actions. Compare that guidance with the letter and the choice shown in your save before committing.

Missing vial instructions and reloading

- A player reported that the instruction note disappeared after reading and could not be found in the accessible mail history, including secret mail. Golden Horn Studios acknowledged the issue and said it planned to address it in a hotfix. If the note is missing in your save, consult any reminder you kept before making the crate decision.
- Can I reload to undo a wrong crate choice?
- Do not count on that as a reliable undo method. The player who reported the missing note also said that reloading did not restore the choice as expected. Check the instructions and the selected shipment before using the vial.
