Separate Production Progress From Deliberate Tasks
Potato Please awards progression achievements for opening objectives, production totals, machinery, and completing the quota; manual-peeling milestones, feeding the puppy, donating to Varenka, smoking, and exploration need deliberate attention. Plan Pavel's replies during the shift, and leave alternate train destinations for ending replay.
The tables cover all 20 Steam achievements. Their progression and deliberate-action labels help you decide what to work on while production continues. Spoilers begin with the achievement tables and become more specific in the story checklist.

Finish Hand Peeling Before Forgetting the Bench
Old School and These Hands Were Made for Peeling deserve an early place in your plan because their requirements specify hand peeling. A Thousand Peels and Ten Thousand accept production from either hands or machines. Check the manual achievements before letting automation take over your routine, then let the broader production totals accumulate as you continue.
Spoilers: Complete These Tasks Before the Train
- Answer Pavel's letters with your intended story outcome in mind; those replies matter before the ending.
- Complete the Varenka potato donation and check A Heart of Gold.
- Feed the puppy and check that Good Boy has unlocked.
- Take a smoking break and finish the cigarette for One Last Puff.
- Attempt the perimeter crossing for No Escape during the shift.
- Finish the hand-peeling milestones before concentrating entirely on automated production.
- Ride a cableway sack for Unauthorized Passenger before leaving for the train.
- Make a manual save at the train controls before choosing your departure route.
Spoilers: Check Pavel's Letters Before Departure
For Your Own Executioner, players describe replies that teach Pavel obedience to the government and his superiors. They also report the unlock on the village route. Treat this as player-reported guidance and inspect the letters in your own save before committing to that ending.
The player walkthrough advises sending money when Pavel asks and choosing Tell what you know for the Director's Questions. It also advises hiding Resistance notes, leaving the people of Varenka unreported, and keeping poison off the carrots during the dinner task. Follow these choices as story preparation rather than expecting the final train lever to replace earlier decisions.
Before departure, check whether Pavel's last letter places him at school near the capital. Also inspect the final Resistance note for the message Your son is with us. These are the save checks described by the player walkthrough; ending replay may not recover the earlier replies that produced them.
Replay the Train Routes After Finishing
Alternate train destinations can wait until you finish your initial ending. Golden Horn Studios added replay from finished saves in Hotfix 1.0.1, and a manual save at the train controls also supports revisiting the routes. Keep your earlier story decisions in mind when checking achievements that involve Pavel.
- Save at the train controls to preserve a state before departure.
- Select your intended destination using its labeled lever.
- Check the displayed line label to verify the destination before leaving.
- Depart to complete the selected route and receive its ending report.
- Return through your saved state or finished-save replay to choose another destination.
- Check Every Path Has a Price after completing all three main train routes.
